Madrid 2025

I think Madrid has always been a city that balances energy and elegance. This trip was all about rediscovering its vibrant streets, enjoying time with friends, and soaking in the relaxed yet lively atmosphere of Spain’s capital.

From the moment we arrived, Madrid greeted us with its characteristic charm. We started our days with a slow stroll through Gran Vía, admiring the grand architecture and stopping for a cortado in a cozy café.

One of the first major highlights was visiting the Prado Museum, where we lost ourselves in the masterpieces of Velázquez and Goya. Just a short walk away, the Retiro Park offered a peaceful escape with its stunning Crystal Palace and serene lake.

A visit to the Royal Palace of Madrid was another must. Its opulent halls and breathtaking views over the city made for an unforgettable experience. Just nearby, the Almudena Cathedral stood in its grandeur, a stunning sight as the sun set behind it.

Madrid is even better when shared. We reunited with friends over long dinners, tasting traditional tapas like jamón ibérico, tortilla, and pulpo a la gallega. At the Mercado de San Miguel, we sampled some of the best Spanish flavors, enjoying glasses of Rioja and Vermúth like true locals.

Evenings were spent in lively barrios like Malasaña and La Latina, where we hopped between bars, soaking in the warm atmosphere and laughter-filled streets.

Between all the exploring, we made sure to take it easy. A lazy morning at a rooftop terrace, sipping coffee while overlooking Madrid’s skyline, was a perfect way to recharge. Walking through Barrio de las Letras, the historic literary quarter, we enjoyed the quiet charm and hidden squares.

To end our trip, we spent a slow afternoon in Plaza Mayor, watching street performers and simply enjoying the city's rhythm. Madrid’s ability to offer both excitement and tranquility makes it a city worth returning to again and again.
